Our professional team at Lyneham Dental Care will always strive to retain your original teeth where possible. If your tooth is broken or damaged, we will work closely with you to attempt to repair it with a filling, crown or other treatment.
Unfortunately, sometimes the damage to a tooth can be too great and an extraction is required. If this is the case, your dentist will discuss treatment options with you. In determining the need for an extraction, your dentist will examine your symptoms, teeth and take digital radiographs of your mouth/teeth. Radiographic examinations are crucial in helping your dentist determine the tooth size, curvature and depth of the roots. For more complicated procedures, we will refer you to our specialist colleagues for their expertise in this field.
Sometimes extraction is the best option for preserving overall oral health. We understand that it can be a daunting prospect. We will endeavour to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.
Your dentist will always discuss options with you to ensure you are well informed and comfortable with your decision. Our friendly team can assist you with any enquiries. Contact us today.
